Chart A Course For Your Future

The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) Marine Transportation Department is based at the Ketchikan campus and offers maritime classes in Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka and outlying communities.  We have a staff of two full-time Maritime Professors, one based in Ketchikan and one in Juneau,  augmented by a large pool of well qualified adjunct instructors, and supported by a part-time Maritime Coordinator. 

UAS Ketchikan Marine Transportation Department serves students who seek a deck department career path, from entry level to deck officer, with U.S. Coast Guard approved instruction. We also offer coursework for individuals wishing to advance their personal knowledge and skills related to vessel operation and navigation.
