RefWorks collects, stores and organizes your citations from books, articles, the Web and numerous other formats and automatically converts those citations into a properly formatted bibliography. It's easy to use, reliable, and will store citations while you're searching.
Learning to use RefWorks takes some time, but it's worth the effort! Follow the directions below, and for more help, ask a librarian, or watch the excellent RefWorks tutorial.

RefWorks Basics
RefWorks uses a system of folders to store citations. You can create folders, move citations between folders, and rename or delete folders. RefWorks has three primary functions: Storing citations (either those you have imported form databases or manually input yourself), creating bibliographies, and creating in-text references, footnotes and endnotes.
Getting Started
Access RefWorks through the Database Quicklinks on the UAS Ketchikan Campus Library's Website.
Set up an Account in RefWorks
If you have not yet created your personal account, click on "Sign up for an Individual Account." If you are off campus you will be prompted for a group cod which is RWUASE. Use your UAS username and password. Next, sign into RefWorks and click the login button.
Create File Folders to organize your research
Click on Folders.
Create New Folder.
Add the name of your research project to the text box and click OK. Now you have created a folder for your citations in RefWorks. You can create as many folders as you like, one for each of your papers or research projects.
Open a new window in your browser and search in the database.
