The nature of oil spills and their consequent environmental and economic impacts is a focus of the coursework. Oil spills can truly disrupt marina operations, cause loss of income and burden harbors with severe penalties. The size spills harbor personnel may encounter in their work, safe and effective oil removal techniques, and information and training needed to eliminate oil spill prone activities in and near marinas are all addressed. The information provided is also appropriate for environmental agency staff and organizations dealing with near shore waterways and resources. Content highlights ways to know what the competition is doing and methods to stay abreast of industry standards. Course is self-paced, but must be completed within 60 days of registration.

Requirements must have a computer with Internet access, speakers OR headphones, personal email address, Adobe Flash Player.
