As of June 1, if you need to set up 593/193 credit for any of the professional development you intend to offer, please contact the very capable staff at PACE (UAA). Their contact information is included below. The UAS and UAF Schools of Education will finish out all the courses currently ongoing or that have been previously set-up for summer 2016.
As I am sure you are aware, the University of Alaska system is going through a transformational change process. Although this change is partially driven by the current financial crisis in Alaska, there are positive changes being made that will result in efficiency and better services to Alaska citizens.
Many departments and services currently offered at more than one campus are being consolidated in an effort to achieve greater efficiency while still offering a high level of support for Alaska communities. Included in the changes are those centers at the different campuses that transcript professional development credit for school districts, community agencies and professional organizations.
For many years UAA, UAF and UAS have all offered this service. While all three Schools and College of Education will continue to transcript 593/193 credits that are developed in partnership with a district or agency, continuing education professional development credit initiated at the district or school level will be centered at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) within PACE (Professional and Continuing Education).
It has been a pleasure working with you and with the teachers and administrators in your district.
